SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE IN REUS

Project

The building takes shape from its imposing position at the top of a roundabout and engraves a carving in the woodland of the already-existing park.
The proposal is for a compact 3-storey cube-shaped building capable of governing and ordering the square, which thwarts the site’s unusual angles. The volume of each façade is sculptured which adds to the distinctive form of the building.
A continuous regular-panelled layer covers the whole building, protecting and distinguishing it at the same time.
By constructing the building in the centre of the site, the remaining outside space can be used for the required car parking spaces and a surrounding garden, which lessens the visual impact of the building.
